'Tis the season of giving. In partnership with Lucky Iron Fish and GlobalMedic, you can help provide relief to those impacted by COVID19, natural disasters and complex emergencies.
This holiday season, we will match your donation to the Giving Program so the impact of each donation will be doubled. For every $10 donated, 2 families will receive a Lucky Iron Fish in their emergency relief kit.
SUPPORT COMMUNITIES IN NEED
Natural disasters have been steadily increasing in recent decades. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed additional strains on those affected by natural disaster, placing people at a greater risk to experience worse social and economic impacts from the pandemic.
Access to food and nutrition is one of the critical factors that determine people’s capacity to cope with disasters, both in the short and the long term.
Your contribution will help put Lucky Iron Fish in relief boxes packed with either nutritional food or water sanitation kits to families post-disaster. This will help them get sustainable and long term access to iron, a critical component of good health and development.
At Lucky Iron Fish, creating impact is a big part of our mission, that’s why we partner with FIN-tastic organizations like GlobalMedic who are on the front lines, addressing disasters when they happen. GlobalMedic is a registered Canadian charity whose mandate is to save lives by providing short-term, rapid response in the wake of disasters and crisis, both at home and abroad. GlobalMedic is often the first team, and many times the only one, to get critical interventions to people in life-threatening situations following a disaster.
